I’ll let you in on a little secret. When Jessica asked me to teach at DEFINE, my first thought was, “Ohhhh….ummm….hmmmmmm….”  The easy and safe answer would have been “no.” I could have given her a long list of reasons why I couldn’t do it.  But, in the same way I push myself to grow as an artist, I wanted to push myself outside my comfort zone, let go of all fear and doubt, and grab onto the opportunity to inspire other artists. I’m so happy I did. To be able to teach my students lessons I learned the hard way and to watch them grow in six short weeks was more rewarding than I can tell you.  I had THEE best group of women in my first class and was sad to see our time together end.  SO, I will be teaching “Through the Looking Glass” again in October and am so excited to be doing so!  My students from my first class were so kind to write reviews for this class. There are a few things I’ve tweaked and a few things I added to continue to make this class the best it can possibly be…

“Krysta Manthe’s Through the Looking Glass course at Define was like a breath of fresh air to me.  It was evident how much of herself she poured into this class.  She gave honest feedback while at the same time encouraging each of us to find ourselves in our art and let it take on a life of its own.  Her sincerity is humbling as she selflessly shared her wealth of knowledge with us, which is a rare thing in this industry at times.   There were so many things that I learned through this course that I have and will incorporate into my work and future business.  I feel like I gained so much insight into how to communicate with clients, capture emotion, and streamline my workflow so I can spend less time at the computer.  I highly recommend this course to anyone who has a desire to find themselves in their work and take their business to the next level.” ~ Leah C.

“First of all Thank You! Thank you, thank you and thank you again. This class meant the world to me and I have learned so much. I am sooo happy I was able to participate in such an awesome learning experience.  You are such an inspiration, thank you for taking the time and giving me the opportunity to grow in this class.  You are so creative and so true to yourself and you really gave us, as students, the same opportunity to find that same passion. I wish I could register for more of your classes, I would take them in a second. I looked forward to each lesson and they challenged me – which was so good for me. Each lesson had so much put into it which was amazing and I am so thankful to have received it.” ~ Melina M.

“Oh.my.goodness. I don’t even know how to put in words how thankful and happy I am that I took this class. I learned what was expected, plus more! All of your lessons were to point, enjoyable to read and easy to understand. You really connected the class together and I’m going to miss the forum oh so much! Now my next goal is to get a mentoring session with you!  Thank you sooo so much for everything and the things you taught. You have definitely helped me grow as an artist! :)” ~ Anya F.

“I cannot say enough about how amazing this class has been. I feel so incredibly lucky to have crossed paths with you. You are truly a wonderful teacher and throughout the course it is very evident that you poured your heart and soul into every aspect of the course. I cannot thank you enough for all your kind words and encouragement throughout the course. Thank you, thank you!!” ~ Christine B.

“I don’t think there’s anything I’d change about this class – other than make it go on forever and ever! :)” ~ Elise P.

“I have taken a few other classes online and thought this class has been the most fresh and contemporary that I’ve ever taken.  It’s great to be able to learn from someone who is actually full time in the field and knows the ins and outs of the current industry.  Krysta is thorough, responsive, and thoughtful.  I would definitely recommend her class to anyone who wants to start a business while staying true to themselves as an artist.” ~ Eleanor H.

“Through the Looking Glass came at the perfect time for me.  The topics covered in this class were so refreshing and fundamental for me to take my business to the next level.  This class lit my creative spark and pushed me to constantly challenge myself in the modern world of photography.  If Krysta ever teaches another class, I’ll be first in line!” ~ Ally H.

Registration for round two of Through the Looking Glass is October 1st so mark your calendars.  Class begins on October 15th and will run six weeks.  For more information on Through the Looking Glass and other classes being offered at DEFINE, go here.

A huge thank you to Jessica Cudzilo who continues to amaze and inspire me.  She has built such an amazing platform for artists to grow and connect. …and she’s one of the funniest, talented, and most genuine people you will ever meet.  DEFINE has a big and bright future thanks to her!
